Wesleyan University-Philippines (WUP) is pleased to announce its partnership with the Universitatea de stiinte Agricole si Medicina Veterinara a Banatului Timisoara (USAMVBT) or the Banat University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine. USAMVBT is a non-profit public higher education institution in the Republic of Romania. Its specializations are in life sciences and veterinary medicine.
Judge Benjamin D. Turgano, President of WUP through his representative, Dr. Jenny Lind D. Elmaco, WUP University Fellow, and UMSAMVBT Rector, Dr. Cosmin Alin Popescu, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on November 25, 2021 in the City of Timisoara, Republic of Romania. Dr. Elmaco is also the Euraxess Regional Coordinator for Asia.
“This MOU signals the beginning of a meaningful partnership between Wesleyan University-Philippines and Banat University. It shall serve as a framework for cooperation between the two institutions in research, extension and instruction. We are excited with the prospects of mutually enriching programs for the faculty and students of the two universities,” said President Turgano.
The ecological advocacies of USAMVBT complement one of the priority areas of the current administration of WUP which is to promote awareness on the issues related to climate change and encourage concrete measures to achieve climate justice and reduce the campus’ carbon footprint.
