In a significant leap forward for medical education, the College of Medicine (COM) at Wesleyan University-Philippines (WU-P) has embraced the use of the Anatomage Table, an innovative piece of technology that is transforming the study of human anatomy over the traditional use of human cadaver. This advanced 3D, life-sized, interactive tool was showcased during an orientation event organized by COM with Zammed’s Medical System Inc. on April 16, 2024.The Anatomage Table is heralded as a groundbreaking educational device, offering a comprehensive and interactive dissecting experience sans real human cadavers. It is equipped with a pre-loaded curriculum designed to enhance learning outcomes and includes an extensive library of over 400 case studies, categorized by organ system pathology, to enrich the students’ understanding of complex anatomical structures.
The College of Medicine at WU-P holds the distinction of being the sole institution in Central Luzon to incorporate this exceptional technology into its curriculum. The Anatomage Table promises to provide students with an educational experience that is both dynamic and engaging.
Dr. Ian Van DC. Uy (Dean of COM), COM faculty, staff, and students, were present at the orientation. All were eager for further integration of this technology into their educational repertoire.
The COM, the first and the only medical school in Nueva Ecija, is now on its second year of operation after its inauguration on September 14, 2022.
