The Alumni Association gave top of the line laptops to six students to aid them in online learning this school year.
The Wesleyan Tech Support Project (WTSP), headed by Alumni President Carlito Fernando as
the overall chairperson, led the crafting of the Guidelines and Memorandum of Understanding and the screening committee composed ofUniversity President Judge Benjamin Turgano, Alumni Association Secretary Mrs. Zenaida Del Rosario, Alumni Association Staff Karmela Del Rosario, Alumni Affairs Director Henry CocoyNacpil and Darren Gonzales.
Six units of Acer Aspire 5 laptops with Smart Bro LTE pocket WiFi were given to the following students from different colleges: Hanna Rosario (CBA), Ashanti Loreno (CTHM), Ralph Erwin Vergara (COED), Jazmine Tumibay (CECT), Jaira De Guzman (CAS), and John Mark Solitario (CCJE). The devices are DepEd-compliant, with Intel Core i3 processor, 128 GB SS + 1TB HDD, and Windows 10.
The chosen students are financially challenged and they do not have any scholarship with the Office of Student Affairs and are not children of faculty and staff.
“I salute the Alumni Association and our University President, Judge Turgano, for taking up the challenge to find practical ways of helping the students in this very difficult time,” said Nacpil.
