Bombo Radyo, Star FM sign MOA with Wesleyan

August 31, 2017

Wesleyan University-Philippines signed a memorandum of agreement with Metro Manila radio stations Bombo Radyo and 102.7 Star FM last August 31.

The document was signed by Vice President for Academic Affairs Leonita P. Garcia and College of Arts and Sciences Dean Michael P. Fronda on behalf of Wesleyan, and Orly Pangcog, area manager of Bombo Radyo, and Stephen Bibas, station manager of 102.7 Star FM, on behalf of the radio network.

Under the agreement, the two sister stations will accommodate Wesleyan Mass Communication students for their summer on-the-job training so they can apply the theoretical inputs they have learned in school and be updated on the current demands of radio broadcasting;

Orly Pangcog, area manager of Bombo Radyo, said their network prefers Wesleyan to be their partner institution because students are properly trained and oriented on the Mass Communication field.

Stephen Bibas, station manager of 102.7 Star FM, said that Wesleyan Mass Communication students are at par with those of universities in Metro Manila in terms of technical skills and knowledge.

Meanwhile after the MOA signing, Pangcog -- a senior member of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas Standard Committee -- interacted with junior and senior Mass Communication students at the Mass Communication Laboratory. ###
