President bans styropor in Wesleyan

February 07, 2020

Wesleyan President Judge Benjamin D. Turgano bans the use of styropor in the university. President Turgano gave this order contained in a memorandum he issued on January 30, 2020. This move is in support of the Climate Change initiative of the University which has been observed since he took to office as president of Wesleyan University-Philippines in February 2019.

During the latter part of school-year 2019-2020, several moves in the campus have been conducted to back this advocacy. Among these were tree-planting, prohibition of plastic food containers by food concessionaires, and use of cloth streamers instead of tarpaulins which are made of polyethylene plastic materials.
