WU-P Choir Director performs at St. Paul University, Manila

A music recital was performed by Wesleyan University’s Choir Director, Rafael R. Ramirez, at the Founders’ Hall, Saint Paul University, Manila on July 30, 2019. This was a final requirement for Ramirez’ completion of his Bachelor of Music degree under the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP).

Among the panel of evaluators were ETEEAP Coordinator, Mr. Oliver Rodriguez, Chairperson for Music Education, Miss Josefina B. Antonio,  Chairperson of Doctor of Musical Arts, Dr. Raul M. Sunico,  and Dean of the College of Music and Performing Arts, Sr. Maria Anunciata Sta. Ana, SPC, who declared Ramirez’ completion of his Bachelor of Music program immediately after performance.

Family and friends, WUP co-workers led by President Judge Benjamin D. Turgano witnessed the music renditions which showcased the Wesleyan Chamber Singers in a series of classic and orchestral Filipino music and spiritual song compositions under the baton of Maestro Ramirez himself.

Among the songs performed were Lucio D. San Pedro’s “Sa Mahal Kong Bayan”, Arnel de Pano’s “Sitsiritsit”,  Mike Velarde’s “Dahil sa ‘Yo”, Fabian Obispo’s “Ti Ayat ti Maysa Nga Ubing”, Thomas Tallis’ “If Ye Love Me”, Allen Pote’s “Prayer of Saint Francis”, L. Wayne Hillard’s  “I Am”, Moses Hogan’s “Elijah Rock”, George Frideric Handel’s “And the Glory of the Lord”, Stephen Adam’s “The Holy City”.
