October 17, 2018

Wesleyan University-Philippines filled the list of top scorers with 7 topnotchers in the recently held 2018 Licensure Exam for X-RAY Technologist in the Philippines (#3 John Gutierrez Roque, #4 Judezza Eurain Cortez Cajucom, #5 Rafael De Jesus, #7 Gininia Perez, #9 Janjan Castillo Lacaba II, #10 Jennalyn Polalon, and #10 Senine Eser Portugal).

“We were aiming to get the highest place in the exam, but it did not happen. Nevertheless, we’re still grateful because our students fought hard and aimed to be among the top in the country,” said Prof. Roberto Yumul, Radtech Program Head.

The department is determined to improve its curriculum and hopes to increase the passing rate for its student board takers.

Furthermore, Rad. Tech looks forward to becoming WU-P’s Center of Excellence or Center of Development in Radiologic Technology education in the Philippines.

Part of this dream is to develop a curriculum for Radtech students with a field of specialization. According to Mr. Yumul, this will make their students even more competent.

“Out of the seven 2018 board passers for the associate exam, four will have to take the exam again, this time for the BS degree,” Mr. Yumul added.

The Department of Radiologic Technology hopes to claim the number one spot in next year’s Licensure Examination.
