Education Dean among Cabanatuan’s ‘Outstanding Women 2018’

Dr. Clarafe Gonzales, dean of the College of Education, was among the 10 Outstanding Women of Cabanatuan City awarded for their exemplary achievements in business, medicine, education, public service and civic work by the Local Government Unit of Cabanatuan through the Gender and Development Council of the City Social Welfare Development Office (CSWDO) in celebration of International Women’s Month.

Gonzales was given a plaque of recognition in grateful recognition of her significant contributions, leadership, dedication and professional intervention in the field of Private Academe Service to the constituents of Cabanatuan City.”

The awardees were presented before an audience consisting of heads and employees of public and private agencies of the city, barangay officials and day care workers, solo parents and the families of the honorees.

The affair with the theme “We Make Change, Work for Women” was held at the Our Lady of Fatima University Gymnasium

Keynote speaker was Nueva Ecija Third District Representative Rossana “Ria” Vergara.

March is observed as Women’s History Month in many countries including the US, with March 8 celebrated as International Women’s Day.

In the Philippines, it is often referred by the government as National Women’s Month and represents the time of the year when women’s advancement becomes most important in the public consciousness. ###
