Christmas celebration at Wesleyan turns magical

As the clock struck six in the evening last December 20, the faculty and staff of Wesleyan University-Philippines turned into magical creatures inspired by Disney characters.

The University Christmas party dubbed “Magical Christmas” saw deans, heads, faculty and staff dressed as iconic characters from Walt Disney movies. 

The event was highlighted by competitions such as Christmas dance presentation, best costume and “Magical Royalties of the Night”.

The winners, in different categories, were:

Christmas Dance Presentation: WUP Hospital, 1st place; Group 4 (College of Hospitality and Tourism Management; College of Education; College of Criminal Justice Education; Research, Development and Productivity Office; Office for Alumni Affairs, Quality Assurance Office), 2nd place; and Group 5 (Guidance and Placement Center; Office of the University Accountant; Internal Auditor’s Office; Office of the University Registrar; Office of the University Treasurer; Human Resource Development Department; Office of the President; Office for Extension Programs; Office of the University Librarian; Medical and Dental Clinic; Office for Student Affairs), 3rd place.

 “Magical Royalties”: Lawyer Ruperto Sampoleo, “Magical King”; Maria Catalina Tugaff, “Magical Queen”; Herminio Campo, “Magical Prince”; Gladys Martinez, “Magical Princess”; Wheingelito Pascua, “Magical Duke”; and Leonora Medina, “Magical Duchess”.

On-the-Spot Best Costume: Dr. Homer Wesley Refuerzo and Michaela Jennarine Cruz, 1st place; Sofronio Mina Jr. and Dr. Elgin Paguirigan, 2nd place; and John Carlo Tan and Sharey Capati, 3rd place.

In charge of the event were the College of Business and Accountancy and the College of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences, with Dean Maria Victoria M. Cruz as overall chair. ###
