Education Dean among Cabanatuan’s ‘Outstanding Women 2018’

Dr. Clarafe Gonzales, dean of the College of Education, was among the 10 Outstanding Women of Cabanatuan City awarded for their exemplary achievements in business, medicine, education, public service and civic work by the Local Government Unit of Cabanatuan through the Gender and Development Council of the City Social Welfare Development Office (CSWDO) in celebration of International Women’s Month.

Gonzales was given a plaque of recognition in grateful recognition of her significant contributions, leadership, dedication and professional intervention in the field of Private Academe Service to the constituents of Cabanatuan City.”

Wesleyan welcomes ACSCU accrediting team

President Pacifico Aniag led the academic and administrative heads in welcoming the accreditors from the Association of Christian Schools, Colleges and Universities (ACSCU) held in Microtel Bistro.

Programs preliminarily visited were PhD in Business Administration and BS Tourism Management; while resurveyed were Doctor of Education, Master of Arts in Nursing, MBA, Master of Arts in Education, BS in Hotel and Restaurant Management, and BS Social Work.

Intl. Women’s Month: Partylist rep lectures on gender equality, SLU prof tackles women empowerment

In celebration of International Women’s Month, the Political Science Society presented “Babae Po Ako!: A Symposium on Gender Equality and Women Empowerment” at the University Auditorium.

Resource speakers Prof. Mary Jane Najarilla, Luzon representative of the Philippine Political Science Association and chair of the Political Science Department of Saint Louis University, Baguio City, and Rep. Sarah Elado of Kabataan Partylist addressed gender equality, women empowerment, and youth solidarity.

CBA hosts First Regional Business Confab

The College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) led the First Regional Business Conference in Nueva Ecija last March 12 at SM City Cabanatuan.

The affair was attended by 412 business students from the College of the Immaculate Conception, Araullo University-Phinma, General De Jesus College, Central Luzon State University and Wesleyan University–Philippines.

University Clinic, City Health Office investigate mumps cases

The University Clinic along with the Cabanatuan City Health Office and the Elementary Department staff investigated the escalating number of confirmed cases of mumps and other viral diseases in Wesleyan.

Recorded mumps cases included 14 Grade 4 and 11 Grade 6 pupils.

Though a wall-to-wall disinfection had been conducted, Prof. Cristy Fernando, principal of the Elementary Department, handed out information pamphlets to pupils to help in stopping the spread of diseases.

University Clinic implements wall-to-wall disinfection to fight mumps

March 6, 2018


The University Clinic conducted a wall-to-wall disinfection in the Ocampo Building to fight mumps, with the help of the faculty and staff of the Elementary Department and the Administrative Office Housekeeping Unit last February 28.

Afternoon classes in the elementary level were suspended to give way for the disinfection.

As of today, in all levels, the Clinic has confirmed 30 cases of students afflicted with mumps, two with sore eyes and two with chicken pox.

CONAMS crowned as Ms. Wesleyan 2018; SHS back-to-back Mr. Wesleyan

Dominic Matthew Manuel of the High School Department and Cheska Ramos of the College of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences (CONAMS) brought home the titles of 2018 Mr. and MS. Wesleyan last February 23 at the University Gymnasium.

The other major winners were Aaron Obedoza (CONAMS), and Ma. Gienel Caling, College of Business and Accountancy (CBA), First Runners-up; Gian Carlo Urian, CBA, and Aileen Joy Inductivo, College of Hotel and Tourism Management, Second Runners-up; and Jeremy La Viña, College of Engineering and Computer Technology and Jaymie Dela Cruz, College of Arts and Sciences, Third Runners-up.

Wesley Divinity School holds first alumni homecoming

For the first time since the Wesley Divinity School (WDS) was founded, a Grand Alumni Homecoming was held last February 23 at the University Auditorium.

Gracing the gathering was Bishop Pedro M. Torio, Jr. of the Baguio Episcopal Area, who led the celebration of the Holy Communion.

The bishop reminded the alumni to live simply as their ministry requires them to sacrifice for the sake of the people.

“Hindi nahihiya ang WDS alumni na ipahayag ang Salita ng Diyos,” he added.
