Senior High School Palaro 2018 Kicks off

Wesleyan University-Philippines Senior High School Department held its Palaro 2018 with the theme “Fight for your tribe” at WU-P gymnasium on December 10, 2018.

The event of the Senior High School students kicked off with six teams representing six tribes competing for the top spot.

The ceremonial torch lighting and oath of sportsmanship highlighted the event.

WU-P Social Work student goes to Osaka Japan

Erizelle Padiernos is a Social Work student of Wesleyan University-Philippines who was sent to Izumisano City and Nara Prefecture, Osaka, Japan on August 16, 2017 to represent the university as well as the Philippines in the 5th Asia Youth Summit.

The Japan Asian Association and Asian Friendship Society were the institutions that facilitated the 5th Asia Youth Summit with the theme “Let’s create and innovate a project good for your community!” The summit also aimed to develop the economically, environmentally, and socially revitalized community that thrives.

The College of Engineering and Computer Technology bagged the title as 3rd runner up in the National Computer Engineering Challenge 2018 held at the University of the Cordilleras, Baguio City on November 27, 2018.

WU-P celebrates Nat’l Book Week

Wesleyan University-Philippines celebrated 84th National Book Week on November 21-23, 2018.

With the theme “Connected Actions, Collective Vision: Libraries Transforming Society”, WU-P library conducted different contests like poster-making, slogan-writing, blank book-making, and read-a-thon. Wesleyanians from elementary up to college participated in the contest. Winners received medals, certificates, and cash prizes. They are as follows:

First Defenders Rising Seminar held @ WU-P

November 23,2018

Wesleyan University-Philippines Supreme Student Council conducted the first Defenders Rising seminar on November 23, 2018 at WU-P gymnasium. With the theme “Transforming Youth Leaders to Human Rights Defenders”, the seminar was held to commemorate the 2009 Maguindanao Massacre.

Attendees were Wesleyan student leaders who were called to know and fight for their rights and therefore challenged to become human rights advocates.

Radiologic Technology wins Region III- Intercollegiate Quiz Bee 2018

Wesleyan University-Philippines Radiologic Technology Department claimed the championship trophy in the recently held Region III- Intercollegiate Quiz Bee at Holy Angel University, Angeles City, Pampanga on November 19, 2018.

The theme of the competition was “Unlocking Knowledge, Empowering Minds” where John Mark Roque, Judezza Euraim Cajucom, Rafael De Jesus, Ginina Perez, and Jan-Jan Labacan, placed the university at the top, pinning down three schools

We are pleased to announce that the Search Committee of the Board of Trustees of the Wesleyan University-Philippines is now accepting applications for the position of the President of the University. As set by the Board of Trustees, applications for WU-P Presidency must possess the minimum qualifications, to wit:

  1. Professing and active member of the United Methodist Church;
  2. No less than forty-five (45) years old and note more than sixty -five (65) years at the time of his assumption into office;
  3. A Filipino Citizen;
  4. Preferably a holder of an earned doctorate degree from CHED recognized higher education institution.
  5. Proven track record as an administrator (President, Vice President, Dean, Campus Administrator, Director), preferably in the academe, whether in public or private, for at least five (5)years.
  6. Must commit to carry out and uphold the Vision, Mission and Development Goals of the University as defined and established by its Board of Trustees.
  7. Must commit to uphold frugality and accountability, and must be able to preserve and strengthen the financial position and viability of the institution; and
  8. Must not have been convicted of any administrative offence or of any crime involving moral turpitude, wherein the penalty is more than six (6) months.
