DJ Michael shared his insights to 400 youth leaders in the leadership congress organized by the Alliance of Youth on Service (AYOS).

WU-P conducts blood donation

The third day of the WU-P Founding Anniversary was a blood-letting or blood donation day for the WU-P employees and students. Red Cross Youth Council from WU-P College of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences were able to collect 50 bags of blood from the donors. Free check-up was also opened to the WU-P community.

WU-P holds Commencement Exercises for First Semester A.Y 2018-2019

Wesleyan University-Philippines held its First Semester 2018-2019 commencement exercises on January 25, 2019.

A total of 369 students marched with their parents, faculty, administration officials, and BOT Chairman, Atty. Ephraim B. Cortez as commencement speaker, at the beginning of the ceremonies.

Deans presented, 103 from the Graduate school, 42 from College of Education, 23 from College of Arts and Sciences, 15 from College of Hotel Tourism and Management, 78 from College of Business and Accountancy, 72 from College of Nursing

Signing Ceremony of the Collective Bargaining Agreement

After several months of negotiations, the Wesleyan University-Philippines (WU-P) management and Wesleyan University-Philippines Faculty and Staff Association (WUPFSA), formally signed the improved economic provision of their Collective Bargaining Agreement. The parties were able to agree on this improved economic package during their meeting held on January 17, 2019 and finalize their agreement on January 29, 2019.

Project SWAN renewed and approved by DOST EXECOM

January 28, 2019

Dr. Ryan De Lara, Director of WU-P Research Development and Productivity Office, along with Engr. Jaypee Pajarillaga of Holy Angel University, and Mr. Edgardo Santos of Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University, presented the SWAN project to the DOST EXECOM at Philvocs, Diliman, Quezon City, Manila on January 28, 2019.

SWAN started on February 1, 2018 and is set to be completed on July 9, 2019. The funding of the project was approved and renewed by Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Executive Committee of the Philippine Council for Industry Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD).

WU-P CHTM Places 3rd in Prelude

College of Hospitality and Tourism Management wins 3rd place on Prelude: Inter School Table Setting Competition held on January 26, 2019 at Crystal Waves Event Center, Talavera, Nueva Ecija.

With five competing schools namely Midway Maritime Academy, College of Research and Technology (CRT), Araullo University and ABE International College, WU-P CHTM managed to place third in the Presidential Table Category.

CHTM bags top awards in National Food Showdown

Wesleyan University-Philippines, College of Hospitality and Tourism Management brought home awards from the National Food Showdown held in Quezon City on October 26-27, 2018.

The NFS Showdown showcased the skills of the students in the contested activities in Food and Beverage preparation.

Taking home three silvers, two bronze, and two diplomas from the contest, CHTM raised the name of the university. The results are as follows:

“Palarong Wesleyan Grand Finale”

“Whether you win or lose, always be humble and nurture in our hearts the spirit of sportsmanship and fair play, friendship and camaraderie. After all we are from the same family we are all Wesleyanians”. This was stressed by VPAA Leonita P. Garcia when she addressed the Wesleyan crowd at the closing ceremony of Palarong Wesleyan 2018.

College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) Dragons emerged as this year’s champion.

With a total score of 182, the Dragons took home the championship title. College of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences in second place gaining 98 points; and College of Hospitality and Tourism Management in third place with 86 points.

WU-P College of Business and Accountancy salutes new CPAs

Wesleyan University-Philippines lauds 12 new Certified Public Accountants who passed the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Exam (CPALE) in the Philippines held in October 2018.

Gladys Abogado, Allyson Grace Banting, Clarence Daniella Custodio, CJ Dela Cruz, Joaila Binuya Dela Cruz, Theresa Franco, Vennice Lee Galindo, Daryl Gumabon, Jemuelle Marvin, Michelle Reyes, Jamiel Suratos, Nicole Emerald Tadeo have proven to the nation that Wesleyan University-Philippines is capable of nurturing students academically. Nine of the twelve CPALE passers are first time takers and three of them are second time takers.

Wesleyan has been consistent in producing CPA’s. In 2016 Vhinson Jay S. Garcia topped the CPA Board Exam with a passing rate of 94.33%, and in 2015 Catherine Joyce C. Espineda was number one with a passing rate of 91.43%.

Indeed, Wesleyan builds people and makes a difference. –P.I.O
