WU-P Graduate School reaches high enrollment

Wesleyan University-Philippines Graduate School reached its peak of enrollment in the first semester of school-year 2019-2020 with 1,007 students enlisted in its different program offerings.

This figure posted the highest number of students enrolled in the WU-P post graduate studies in the last five years’ first semester terms. In 2015-2016, WU-P had 317 graduate students, 514 in 2016-2017, 773 in 2017-2018, and 884 in 2018-2019.

Dr. Gener Subia, OIC-Dean, said that service efficiency, quality education, easy enrollment process, effective marketing scheme, student-friendly staff and faculty, and innovative measures employed by the University President, VPAA, and the Dean are among the reasons for the rise of GS enrollment.

Wesleyan conducts Welcome Convocation for new students

Wesleyan University-Philippines conducted a Welcome Convocation, a gesture of cordial reception of new students at the start of school-year 2019-2020, spearheaded by the Office for Student Affairs.

This was the first grand activity in which more than two thousand freshmen and transferees enrolled in the different programs of the university converged at the university gymnasium to be welcomed by President Benjamin D. Turgano, the administrative and academic officials and the faculty.

In his welcome address, the University President assured the students that they have chosen an institution “that is not only dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge, but also devoted, more significantly, to inspiring faith and instilling guidance that would fortify a young person’s sense of self, sense of responsibility, sense of service, and sense of reverence to God.”

WU-P enrollment record constantly elevates

The number of enrollees at Wesleyan University-Philippines constantly elevates as enrollment period continues.

The university hopes to surpass the previous record of 8,290 for academic year 2018 to 2019. Enrollment for school year 2019 to 2020 officially started on May 21, 2019.

Graduate School, John Wesley School of Law and Governance, and College of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences are the top performing programs for this year in terms of enrollment increase. With GS having an increase of 37, JWSLG with 40, and CONAMS with 131, WU-P expects to register more.

WU-P Admin, Acad Officials Appointed

WU-P Food Court ready to serve Wesleyanians

Wesleyan University-Philippines re-opens its food court at the beginning of classes for school-year 2019-2020 and now ready to serve Wesleyan community.

Chaplain Rev. Francis Fajardo led the blessing and dedication of the university’s coffee shop, commissary, and the stalls and carts of 13 concessionaires.

President Judge Benjamin D. Turgano and the university officials attended the event. Mrs. Emma Mangabat, Head of the Business Center, assured everyone of a wide variety of nutritious food and drinks. She also said that her office will ensure a healthy competition among the concessionaires.

WU-P gets 100% passing rate at PT Exam

Wesleyan University-Philippines obtained a hundred percent passing rate in the Physical Therapist Licensure examination when Janzelle L. Antonio and Ivy Krystal D. Romero passed the exam held last August 10 and 11, 2019.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that 833 out of 1,290 takers of the August batch are now licensed Physical Therapists.

In February of this same year, Arol Joy Dela Cruz Libao of WU-P placed 8th in the PT Licensure exam.

WU-P acclaims New Radiologic and X-Ray Technologists

Wesleyan University-Philippines College of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences (CONAMS) acclaims 31 Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology (BSRT) students who passed the Radiologic Technologist Licensure Examination and 19 Associate in Radiologic Technology (ART) students who passed the X-RAY Technologist Licensure Examination held on July 28 and 29, 2019.

According to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) a total of 2,338 examinees out of 4,505 passed the Radiologic Technologist Licensure Examination and 64 out of 240 passed the X-Ray Technologist Licensure Examination given by the Board of Radiologic Technology.

WU-P Choir Director performs at St. Paul University, Manila

A music recital was performed by Wesleyan University’s Choir Director, Rafael R. Ramirez, at the Founders’ Hall, Saint Paul University, Manila on July 30, 2019. This was a final requirement for Ramirez’ completion of his Bachelor of Music degree under the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP).

Among the panel of evaluators were ETEEAP Coordinator, Mr. Oliver Rodriguez, Chairperson for Music Education, Miss Josefina B. Antonio,  Chairperson of Doctor of Musical Arts, Dr. Raul M. Sunico,  and Dean of the College of Music and Performing Arts, Sr. Maria Anunciata Sta. Ana, SPC, who declared Ramirez’ completion of his Bachelor of Music program immediately after performance.

WU-P CONAMS lauds 5 Topnotchers in X-Ray Tech Board Exam

Wesleyan University-Philippines College of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences students claim 5 top spots in the X-RAY Technologist Licensure Examination held on July 28 and 29, 2019.

Randell Dela Cruz is the 4th placer with 83.00%, Maria Aurora Esguerra is 5th with 82.50%, Jenzer Yute is 7th with 82.00%, Mariel Joy Francisco is 8th with 81.75%, and Roselle Yap with 81.00% holding the 10th spot in the board exam.
