Radio Tech Department Upgrades curriculum

Wesleyan University-Philippines filled the list of top scorers with 7 topnotchers in the recently held 2018 Licensure Exam for X-RAY Technologist in the Philippines (#3 John Gutierrez Roque, #4 Judezza Eurain Cortez Cajucom, #5 Rafael De Jesus, #7 Gininia Perez, #9 Janjan Castillo Lacaba II, #10 Jennalyn Polalon, and #10 Senine Eser Portugal).

“We were aiming to get the highest place in the exam, but it did not happen. Nevertheless, we’re still grateful because our students fought hard and aimed to be among the top in the country,” said Prof. Roberto Yumul, Radtech Program Head.

WU-P Graduate school partners with Hongkong’s Wyith Institute

Wesleyan University-Philippines is presently establishing a partnership with Hongkong’s Wyith Institute.

As part of the first phase of the implementation of the consortium for graduate programs, WU-P sent Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Graduate, Dr. Leonita P. Garcia, Graduate School Associate Dean, Dr. Michael P. Fronda, and former Quality Assurance Director, Dr. Maria Victoria M. Cruz to represent the University in a three-day conference with Wyith CEO and President Dr. Raymond Cheng.

CHTM bags golds in HRT Weekend

College of Hotel and Tourism Management bagged two golds, eight silvers, four bronze, and six diplomas in the recently held 14th Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Weekend in Baguio City on October 4-6, 2018.

Inspired by the competition’s theme “Learn to Win”, CHTM team composed of 37 students together with their teachers/coaches joined various categories including “Mocktail Mixing” in which Mary Joy Marquez won the gold and “Travel and Tours” where Samantha Tungol and Elaine Reyes each got a gold medal.


Nueva Ecija Collegiate Sports League hailed season 7 at WU-P

The NECSL season seven continues to conquer the peak of sports in Nueva Ecija as it took place at Wesleyan University-Philippines Gymnasium on October 5, 2018.

The opening program started with the parade of participating school teams within WU-P Gymnasium “CIC Kings, CLSU Green Cobras, CRT Blue Fox, ELJMC Ravens, GJC Generals, MVGFCI Ambassadors, NEUST Phoenix, OLFU Fatima, OLSCHO Aces, and WU-P Riders”.

WU-P hosts Interhigh Sports Fest; CLARAA preparations continue

Wesleyan University-Philippines hosted the opening of the Interhigh School Sports Fest on September 21, 2018. It was held at the University gymnasium and was participated in by student athletes and their coaches from the different private and public high schools of Cabanatuan City.

The sports competition aims to search for the delegates of Cabanatuan City for the upcoming Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLARAA) meet.

First Semester enrollment records 6% increase

Wesleyan University-Philippines First Semester, AY 2018-2019 hit an enrollment record almost sic percent higher than First Semester, AY 2017-2018.

It posted a total of 8,278 students in all levels including the Pre-school, Junuir and Senior High School, College, Wesley Divinity School, Graduate School and John Wesley School of Law and Governance.

As confirmed by the University Registrar, Dr. Carmelita A. Tiglao, the enrollees in college, Graduate School, and JWSLG registered the highest number of increase.

The University in confident that the increase in enrollment is due to the community's trust on Wesleyan's continuing dedication to mold its students by offering quality Christian education. ###

WU-P Conducts Freshmen Orientation

Freshmen and new students of Wesleyan University-Philippines convened at the university gymnasium on August 29, 2018 for a university wide orientation.

The activity aimed to officially welcome the new students and introduce to them the policies, regulations, and services of the university. Among the services discussed in the orientation included library, medical and dental, scholarship, guidance and counseling, laboratories, and food services.

Wesleyan holds Modified Second Generation GE Faculty Training

Wesleyan University-Philippines hosted the Modified Second Generation General Education Faculty Training last May 28-31, 2018.

It was attended by nearly two hundred professors and instructors from the different public and private universities and colleges across Central Luzon.

The event which was endorsed by the Commission of Higher Education Department was conducted as a preparation for the current paradigm shift in the nation’s educational system.

Education Dean among Cabanatuan’s ‘Outstanding Women 2018’

Dr. Clarafe Gonzales, dean of the College of Education, was among the 10 Outstanding Women of Cabanatuan City awarded for their exemplary achievements in business, medicine, education, public service and civic work by the Local Government Unit of Cabanatuan through the Gender and Development Council of the City Social Welfare Development Office (CSWDO) in celebration of International Women’s Month.

Gonzales was given a plaque of recognition in grateful recognition of her significant contributions, leadership, dedication and professional intervention in the field of Private Academe Service to the constituents of Cabanatuan City.”

Wesleyan welcomes ACSCU accrediting team

President Pacifico Aniag led the academic and administrative heads in welcoming the accreditors from the Association of Christian Schools, Colleges and Universities (ACSCU) held in Microtel Bistro.

Programs preliminarily visited were PhD in Business Administration and BS Tourism Management; while resurveyed were Doctor of Education, Master of Arts in Nursing, MBA, Master of Arts in Education, BS in Hotel and Restaurant Management, and BS Social Work.
