Bombo Radyo, Star FM sign MOA with Wesleyan

Wesleyan University-Philippines signed a memorandum of agreement with Metro Manila radio stations Bombo Radyo and 102.7 Star FM last August 31.

The document was signed by Vice President for Academic Affairs Leonita P. Garcia and College of Arts and Sciences Dean Michael P. Fronda on behalf of Wesleyan, and Orly Pangcog, area manager of Bombo Radyo, and Stephen Bibas, station manager of 102.7 Star FM, on behalf of the radio network.

CHTM student wins in Provincial Skills Competition

August 31, 2017


A student of the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) won in the Cookery Division of the First Provincial Skills Competition held at SM City Cabanatuan last August 31.

Edward Sean Manangkil took the title, assisted by his classmates Patrick Ronquillo and Gabriel Baltazar.

Dr. Cindy Gaston-Villaroman, CHTM dean, said, “We are very happy since this is the first time na nakasali kami sa TESDA competition and na-hit pa natin yung champion.”

CAS, CECT conduct student orientations

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and the College of Engineering and Computer Technology (CECT) simultaneously conducted student orientations on August 30.

CAS Dean Michael Fronda cited the famous Confucian adage “Give man a fish and he will live for a day but teach man how to fish and he will live for a lifetime”, saying that the college goes beyond that by producing graduates who know “how to grow fish”.

COED prof presents innovative teaching tool in US confab

A professor of the College of Education presented an innovative teaching tool that she designed along with her classroom-based research at the 37th Annual International Critical Thinking Conference in Sonoma State University, Rhonert Park, Califoria, USA.

Dr. Gladys Mangiduyos explained that she had submitted a classroom-based research using the RHDA [pronounced “rada”] which was accepted, resulting in her being invited to the US conference

OSA holds orientation for new students

The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) held an orientation program for first year and transfer students last August 23 in the University Gymnasium.

The activity aimed to familiarize the new students with the University buildings and facilities, services and officials.

6 profs receive permanent appointments

Six faculty members from two colleges were appointed as regular tenured faculty effective August 16, 2017.

They include Dr. Alex Caballero and Prof. Josephine Benignos of the College of Arts and Sciences; and Dr. Emmanuel Aquino and Profs. Luzviminda Bundoc, Manuel Castillo and Kevin Rivera of the College of Business and Accountancy.
