SHS Alumni class 2019 leads Green University Movement

Wesleyan University-Philippines Senior High School Alumni Association class of 2019, in partnership with WU-P Alumni Affairs Office, led a campus tree-planting activity dubbed as “Green University Movement” on July 12, 2019.

“Green University Movement”, is a university-wide tree-planting activity which aims to make Wesleyan University-Philippines the first carbon-neutral campus in Nueva Ecija. The activity was attended by the University President Benjamin D. Turgano, Wesleyan faculty and staff, students, WU-P ROTC unit, Class 2019 headed by Ms. Vibelle Vergara, Shell Cabanatuan, WU-P Alumni Association President, Ronald Castillo, and the SHS 2019 Alumni class officers themselves.

WU-P CONAMS hits high pass rate in 2019 Nurses Board Exam

Wesleyan University-Philippines College of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences lauds 12 newly registered nurses after passing the Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination (PNLE) held on June 2 and 3, 2019.

According to the PRC (Professional Regulation Commission) website 5,059 out of 9,691 passed the board exam WU-P CONAMS garnered 73.68% passing rate for first takers which is above the national passing rate of 52.20%

CECT Set to Offer BS Civil Engineering and BS Electrical Engineering

Wesleyan University-Philippines College of Engineering and Computer Technology is set to offer two new programs for academic year 2020-2021.

Approved by WU-P Board of Trustees, Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering will be added to CECT’s Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering, and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program offerings for academic year 2020-2021.

The idea to add the programs was brought up by the University President, Judge Benjamin D. Turgano, to cater to the demand of the community.

Engr. Yolanda Claudio, CECT Dean, hopes to establish wider linkages with industries involving Wesleyan civil and electrical engineering students and graduates.

C/MAJ FATIMA H SALIH 2CL, ranked 1st in the 3.2 km run for the Physical Fitness Test, and 3rd in Academic Proficiency Test during the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC)  Summer Camp Training and Advance Rotc Academic Phase Training held in Camp Gen. Servillano A. Aquino, San Miguel, Tarlac on May 26 to June 23, this year.

WU-P COED hits high on BLEPT 2019

Wesleyan University-Philippines College of Education lauds 46 new teachers who passed the Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT) in the Philippines held on March 24, 2019.

According to the PRC (Professional Regulation Commission) website, only 27.28% elementary teachers and 25.95% secondary teachers nationwide passed the BLEPT.

WU-P’s Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education (BSED) students obtained 55.56% passing rate, while Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (BEED) students obtained 63.29% passing rate.

CECT launches Faculty Research

Wesleyan University-Philippines College of Engineering and Computer Technology in partnership with Research Development and Productivity Office, launched “Taralets:magrResearch na Tayo” on June 27, 2019.

Held at WU-P Computer Science Building “Taralets:magrResearch na Tayo” is a project that aims to encourage the CECT faculty members to innovate in their chosen profession and submit research proposals.

Bong Bong Marcos speaks to 1,321 Wesleyan grads

Former Senator Ferdinand “Bong Bong” R. Marcos was the commencement speaker during the 72nd Commencement Exercises of Wesleyan University-Philippines held on June 13, 2019.

Speaking before Wesleyan’s 2019 batch, Marcos accepted President Judge Benjamin D. Turgano’s pronouncement that he (Marcos) be a “Ninong” to the 1,321 graduates of this university.

173 Wesleyan JHS receive completion certificates

A total of 173 Junior High School students of Wesleyan University-Philippines completing Grade 10 marched with their parents to the stage to receive their certificates.

Inspired by the theme: “Pagkakaiba-iba kalidad na Edukasyon para sa Lahat”, the completers were witnessed by the JHS faculty, High School Principal Dr. Tita C. Agsunod, Acting VPAA Dr. Marietta B. Agustin, and Chief of Curriculum Implementation Division of the Division of Cabanatuan City Dr. Pricilla D. Sanchez as the guest speaker of this year’s ceremonies.
