WU-P, Gawad Kalinga, Mega Rehab sign MOAs

A Memorandum of Agreement was signed between Wesleyan University-Philippines and Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation, Inc.

Under the agreement, Gawad Kalinga will provide opportunities for Wesleyan students’ community immersion and for Wesleyan employees’ outreach and research programs. Wesleyan, on the other hand, commits to assist Gawad Kalinga in its programs and activities for GK barangays, by monitoring, training, inspiring, stimulating and sustaining the growth and capacities of its people. Wesleyan will also cooperate with GK’s “Barangay Walang Iwanan Campaign”.

APE scheduled April and May

WU-P Medical and Dental Clinic is looking forward to a hundred percent WU-P employee availment of the Annual Physical Examination (APE).

According to Dr. Christian M. Salazar, University Physician, all WU-P employees who are holders of the WUPCARE health care card should undergo the APE which is scheduled in April and May. A series of laboratory tests: Complete Blood Count (CBC), Urinalysis, Fecalysis, Chest X-ray, and ECG will be conducted. Results of these tests, together with a letter of authority (LOA) issued by the WUPCARE office will be brought along by every employee upon consultation with his WUPCARE-accredited physician. Any necessary additional laboratory tests to be conducted shall be requested by the employee’s attending physician.

WU-P extends hand to Philippine Army Officers

Wesleyan University-Philippines reaches out to Philippine Army Officers School Training and Doctrine (PASTD) based in Fort Magsaysay, Palayan City in this province.

The PASTED is a school for Philippine Army Officers to be trained as teachers of the enlisted personnel of the Philippine Army in Palayan City.

CECT Dean sees “silver lining” in WU-P’s Engineering Board Exam

Engineer Yolanda R. Claudio, Dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Technology, expressed her optimism on Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) students to pass the board exam which will take place on April 4, 5 and 6 this year. She bared the college’s efforts of monitoring the graduates in their review for the said examination.

Wesleyan University-Philippines 89.7 DWUP-FM Radio DJ Michael Dennis Valentos was the guest speaker in the Palayan City Youth Leaders Congress held at Hotel Supreme Convention Plaza, Baguio City last March 9-10, 2019. DJ Michael shared his insights to 400 youth leaders in the leadership congress organized by the Alliance of Youth on Service (AYOS).

The coronation night of the search for Mr. and Miss Wesleyan took place on the February 14, 2019, the fourth day of university’s Founding Anniversary celebration. Candidates from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Engineering and Computer Technology (CECT), College of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences (CONAMS), College of Education (COED), College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE), College of Business and Accountancy (CBA), and College of Hospitality and Tourism Management showcased their talents, wit, and poise to the audience and judges.

Mass Demo held on the Fourth day of Founding Anniv

A mass demonstration was held at Plaza Acacia on the fourth day (February 14, 2019) of WU-P’s 73rd Founding anniversary.

There were six teams joining the competition. Elementary Department incorporated the Walis Festival vibes in their routine, while the Senior High School Department fused the concept of Gatas ng Kalabaw Festival in their performance. College of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences executed their Sibuyas Festival inspired dance.

WU-P conducts blood donation

February 13, 2019

The third day of the WU-P Founding Anniversary was a blood-letting or blood donation day for the WU-P employees and students. Red Cross Youth Council from WU-P College of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences were able to collect 50 bags of blood from the donors. Free check-up was also opened to the WU-P community.

WU-P students holds Battle of the Bands

Loud cheers from the audience permeated in the air as students’ and employees’ bands competed at the Plaza Acacia on February 13, 2019. The band competition was organized by the Supreme Student Council through the leadership of its president Kimberly Valino. Winners of the competition, dubbed as Battle of the Bands, were: 1st place: Wednesday, 2nd place: Syerra Modre, 3rd place: Wild Flame. Battle of the Bands was one of the highlights of the WU-P 73rd Founding Anniversary Celebration.

Elementary Department holds Bulilit Got Talent

WU-P Elementary Department brought their talents onstage on February 12, 2019 in a competition called “Bulilit Got Talent”. It was a showcase of the pupils’ natural ability in singing, dancing and music instrument-playing.

A total of 13 contestants joined the talent competition which is a part of the university’s celebration of its 73rd Founding Anniversary.
