College of Criminal Justice Education

The B.S. Criminology program of Wesleyan University-Philippines (WUP) started in 1999 under the aegis of the College of Arts and Sciences. In the following year, a separate College of Criminology was established by virtue of Board of Trustees (BOT) Resolution No. 24 dated August 26, 1999. In 2004, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED)  gave the program government recognition through Government Certificate No. HER-010, s. 2004

The B.S. Criminology program also enjoys recognition by professional organizations like Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines (PCAP) and Philippine Educators Association for Criminology Education (PEACE).

The College of Criminologystarted operating in June 2000 with an initial enrollment of 133 students. In School Year 2008-2009, it was renamed as the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) in accordance with the provision of CHED Memorandum Order No. 21, s. 2005.

At present, the College of Criminal Justice Education, located at the 3rd and 4th floors of the Administration Building, is proud of its state-of-the-art facilities and equipment and is first and only school to have acquired the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS). It is also proud of its air-conditioned classrooms, laboratories and offices.

In June 2006, CCJE was awarded a Certificate of Recognition for being one of the Top Performing Schools by the Professional Regulations Commission and the Board of Criminology.

For the accreditation of the B.S. Criminology program, it underwent a preliminary visit in 2013 and a formal accreditation visit in 2014 by the Association of Christian Schools, Colleges and Universities Accrediting Agency, Inc. (ACSCU-AAI). As a result, it was granted Level I Accreditation Status from May 2014 to May 2017. Prior to that, the CCJE obtained Level 1 Accreditation Status from PACUCOA before it shifted to ACSCU-AAI in 2013.

Raymond R. Tabajonda, a graduate of the B.S Criminology program, came out Number Three in the May 2007 Licensure Examination for Criminologists. Analiza C. Angala, a 2006 Graduate, landed at Seventh Place in the May 2006 examination while Suzane C. Gutierez made it to the Eleventh Place in the October 2013 examination.
