WU-P QUICK FACTS

  • Weleyan University-Philippines (WUP) is in the heart of Cabanatuan City, the educational and business center of Nueva Ecija.
  • It is 110 kilometers from Manila, strategically located at the crossroads of transportation networks that lead to adjacent regions and provinces: Nueva Vizcaya in the north, Aurora in the east, Bulacan in the south and Tarlac and Pampanga in the west.
  • WUP offers the best of two worlds: inexpensive provincial living with the amenities of an urban setting,
  • WUP is a non-stock, non-profit, non-sectarian, Methodist-oriented and co-educational institution.
  • It operates on two campuses – the seven-hectare Cushman Campus in Cabanatuan City and the WUP Aurora Campus in Maria Aurora, Aurora.
  • It has its own campus radio station, DWUP-FM, Radio Wesleyan, at 89.7 MegaHertz.
  • WUP operates the Wesleyan University Medical Center -- a center for teaching, training, and research in the field of medical and nursing specialties. This is in support of the university’s nursing and allied medical courses and to serve the needs of the community,
  • The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) initially declared WUP an Autonomous University from 2009 until 2014, then renewed until 2019. It is one of only five autonomous private schools in Region 3 and the only one in Nueva Ecija.
  • The Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) awarded WUP Institutional Accredited Status in 2014.
  • The Commission on Higher Education declared the University’s College of Engineering as a Center for Excellence in electronics and Communications Engineering.
  • WUP is an active institution member of the International Association of Methodist Schools, Colleges and Universities (IAMSCU), Association of Universities in Asia and the Pacific (AUAP), Asia Pacific Association of Methodist Educational Institutions (APAMEI), and Philippine Association of Methodist Schools, Colleges, Universities and Seminaries (PASMCUS). Its outreach program is partly subsidized by North Georgia Bridge Program of the North Georgia Annual Conference, USA.
  • Wesleyan is also an active member of the Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) in Region III, Nueva Ecija Collegiate Sports League (NECSL), National Chess Federation of the Philippines and Philippine Taekwondo. Its athletic teams compete in various sports competitions.
