KIWANIS International awards VPAA

Dr. Estrella C. Buenaventura, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) of Wesleyan University – Philippines, Cabanatuan City, was recognized and awarded by the KIWANIS International Division 2C1 and the John Wesley School of Law and Governance by its class 2017 on Gender Equality last March 24, 2017 at SM Megacenter in Cabanatuan City. The awarding was done in time for the celebration of the International Women’s Month.

Kiwanis International is an international, coeducational service club founded in 1915 in Detroit, Michigan which primarily aimed at strengthening communities and serving children (Wikipedia). Through the years, it has expanded its concern to some other issues besetting the communities, and thus addressed practical solutions to the knowledge of the community. One of which is the issue on Gender Equality and Women Empowerment.

Wesleyanian staffers dominate Grub Street 2016

For four consecutive years, The Wesleyanian staffers were proclaimed again as this year’s overall champion in the Grub Street, an annual seminar-workshop on campus journalism hosted by The Researchers, the official student publication of Central Luzon State University (CLSU) Science High School, September 9-10,2016.

Headed by Mr. Joseph A. Villarama , the new school paper adviser of The Researcher, this two-day seminar-workshop was participated by 429 elementary and secondary campus journalists from different schools around Nueva Ecija.

Two HS students join NSPC 2017

Jovelle Kaye Calipdan, a Grade 9 student and Hannah Grace P. Dela Cruz, a Grade 11 student participated in the 2017 National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) held in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur, January 22-25.

This conference with the theme “Strengthening Freedom of Information through Campus Journalism” is an annual competition of campus journalists in the entire country to showcase their talents in the different categories of journalism.

Wesleyan Hosts Book Fair 2016

Two book companies - International Book Royale and Maxcor Publishing House, Inc. - gathered together at the lobby of the Wesleyan University –Philippines Auditorium for one day Book Fair held on September 23, 2016. They brought their most recent books for the various courses offered in the University.

Deans, faculty members and students of WU-P came to browse through different books and multimedia which can be used as instructional materials or reference in their field of interest or study. The books and multimedia they chose were soon after requested for purchase.by Dr. Carmelita A. Tiglao

WU-P Chief Librarian Speaks on the Aklatan 2016: A Regional Conference on the Art of Librarianship and Capability Building for Student Services

Dr. Carmelita A. Tiglao, WU-P Chief Librarian, was the resource speaker on the topic “The Teacher-Librarian as a Curriculum Leader in a K-12 Schools: Preparation for Globalization” during the Aklatan 2016: A Regional Conference on the Art of Librarianship held at the Centennial Hall, Malolos Resort Club Royale, City of Malolos, Bulacan last September 2, 2016. The seminar was sponsored by the Philippine Librarian Association Inc.-Central Luzon Region Librarian Council (PLAI-CeLRLC).
