Acceptance Speech of Aurora Garcia for having been awarded Natatanging Wesleyanian 2017:

Good evening! I am so amazed to be here tonight in front of distinguished people. First of all, I thank God for giving me this opportunity to be with you, my brothers and sisters in Christ. I sincerely thank the ones who nominated me and those who supported my nomination for this award for believing in what I was and what I have become. My gratitude would not be complete if I do not mention the teachers that dedicated their time and effort to nurture our young minds in being scholars seeking the truth, in character-building and in community service.

Natatanging Wesleyanian

For almost seven decades now, Wesleyan University-Philippines has been known for moulding and developing competent graduates and topnotch achievers who become outstanding in their chosen field of endeavour. To strengthen and further the University’s sincerity in recognizing outstanding alumni, the University through the Office for Alumni Affairs created the “Outstanding Wesleyan Alumni Awards Program: Natatanging Wesleyanian.”

FEEDING PROGRAM: PISO MO, KALUSUGAN KO!

After a thorough screening and preparation, twenty-four (24) mildly to moderately malnourished children were enrolled to the feeding program.

 

I. Planning

 

1. Health Assessment/ OplanTimbang – June 16, 2015

Health assessment and weighing of the children were conducted to determine who were malnourished. Present during this activity were Mrs. Judiliza Guinto of Medical and Dental Clinic; Dr. Norman Namoro of WESCOP; Mr. Joy Cleto and SSC officers; Prof. Aubrey Roque; and from the Alumni Office were Prof. Maria Theresa Gamboa, Mr. Erwin Nuñez and Renzo Calixtro.

OAA, WESCOP, CONAMS, CHTM Conduct Feeding Program in Pangatian

In line with the university’s continuous participation in the feeding programs of the community, the Office for Alumni Affairs (OAA) fed 24 malnourished children at Brgy. Riverside, Pangatian, Cabanatuan City, the adopted community of the university.

The program was conducted back-to-back with the Wesleyan Community Outreach Program (WESCOP), College of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences (CONAMS) and College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM).
