CHED commends WUP’s aid to HEIs

Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chair J. Prospero E. De Vera III commended Wesleyan University-Philippines for “heeding the call for bayanihan in the higher education sector” during this time of pandemic.

In a letter to WU-P President Judge Benjamin Turgano, De Vera expressed CHED’s gratitude for the university’s initiative to offer the free webinar-workshop “Designing Instructional Modules for Flexible Learning” to higher education institutions (HEIs) and faculty in need of training. He added that WU-P’s service is critical in the shift towards flexible learning, without compromising the safety of students, faculty, and HEI personnel.

More than 1,700 participants from all over the Philippines and even overseas registered for the information-packed and insight-rich webinar conducted by one of the country’s top curriculum experts and a sought-after lecturer on education, Dr. Greg Tabios Pawilen. Supervisors and regional directors of CHED and DepEd likewise joined the training hosted by WU-P and sponsored by Rex Bookstore. Educators from Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, South Korea, Oman, Riyadh, and Guam listened to the plenary and participated in the breakout groups.
